Join the Faith in Democracy Interfaith Prayer VIgil on Friday Jan 5th at 4 pm

Dear John,

On January 5, 2024, at 4-5 pm ET the Franciscan Action Network (FAN) and Faith in Peace Concerts will co-host the 3rd annual Faith in Democracy interfaith prayer vigil.

The DC Poor People’s Campaign is a cosponsor of the event, which will bring together faith leaders from several traditions to reflect on how our faith values can guide us as we reflect back on the January 6 insurrection and think about the fateful year ahead.

The event will be hybrid, held in person on the U.S. Capitol grounds in Washington, D.C. and live streamed on the FAN YouTube page for those across the country.

Featured speakers include Sr. Bridget Bearss, Rev. Karen Brau, Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, Rabbi David Saperstein, Imam Dr. Talib Shareef and Rev. Jim Wallis. Each speaker will offer a short excerpt from a sacred text and a reflection on how that text inspires us now towards nonviolent resolution of political differences. We will have music from the local a cappella group Reverb and duo The Sweater Set

We hope you will join in person or online. Click here for more information on our speakers and to register.

Let's begin 2024 by calling for all Americans to respect and improve our democracy as the best way to resolve political differences without violence. Please join us in person or online to pray, sing, and reaffirm our commitment to live out our values in 2024.

Forward Together, Not One Step Back!
