a new decade of AGREE

Hello Friend,

We've spent the month sharing staff stories as part of our year end fundraiser, and now as it comes to a close, I'd like to share my own.

Last year, AGREE threw a 10th Anniversary Party to celebrate 10 years of growth, evolution, and hard work to transform New York’s destructive energy systems into a racially and economically just system that works for people and planet. We celebrated our collaborative work with over 200 organizations, 10,000 individuals who took action with us, and the two statewide coalitions that we helped found. The outpouring of love and support for AGREE took my breath away and got me motivated to keep building our amazing movement, keep fighting for the world we know is possible, and keep growing AGREE.

This has been another amazing year at AGREE. We canceled gas infrastructure through our rate case interventions, helped people get heat pumps and energy efficiency into their homes through our EnergySmart CNY Campaign, and passed laws with our Renewable Heat Now Coalition that give us an efficient and 21st century technology alternative to harmful fracked gas infrastructure. We could not have done this without our organizational allies, our friends, our co-workers, and our whole movement.

Though there are heartbreaking, grueling, and frustrating struggles each day in this work as we grapple with the classist, racist, colonial structure that underpins our energy systems, I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished and so excited for where we go next.

As you may know, our eleventh year saw AGREE double our staff so that the work we do and the message we bring can reach more people and have more impact. Sustaining our new staff positions and working to make the compensation at AGREE reflective of the economy we are fighting for is only possible with the support of our friends, allies, members, and people like you. Will you help sustain AGREE for a sustainable future? Every little bit helps, and as always, thank you so much for your support. Let's start our 12th year stronger than ever!

Sincerely,

Jessica Azulay
