Dear John,
2023 was a monumental year for Future Caucus. We celebrated 10 years of impact. We hosted our largest in-person Future Summit ever. And we rebranded our organization to welcome new generations of leaders into the fold. This year has been one for the books!
Let's take a look back together:
CONNECT
This year, we expanded the Future Caucus network to 33 states [[link removed]] . We added New York [[link removed]] and Delaware [[link removed]] , where Gen Z and millennial lawmakers united across party lines with the goal of seeking innovative, future-focused solutions.

We carried this momentum with us through the remainder of our "On the Rise" tour stops in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Vermont, culminating with our seventh annual Future Summit [[link removed]] in Indiana. This year's Future Summit in Indianapolis hosted nearly 70 participants, from across the country, who came together to collaborate, share policy ideas, and gain insight from experts.

TRAIN
In addition to the leadership and development training exercises at Future Summit, we held legislator training workshops with the Center for Effective Lawmaking and the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy.

In September, we launched the long-awaited Innovation Lab [[link removed]] to serve as a hub for policy education and bridge-building. The Innovation Lab gives young lawmakers access to a policy library, live briefings, on-demand experts, and connections to other lawmakers working on issues they care about. The inaugural group of Innovation Fellows will be announced in January - this cohort of lawmakers will learn how to apply strategic foresight and future-forward thinking to the legislative process.

CATALYZE
Our lawmakers were also busy passing bipartisan legislation that will leave a lasting impact for generations to come. The Arkansas Future Caucus achieved 39 pieces of bipartisan legislation [[link removed]] signed into law. In Oklahoma, lawmakers shared the impacts of their bipartisan work through efforts to reduce maternal/ infant mortality [[link removed]] and harm caused by the state's opioid epidemic [[link removed]] . 40% of all bipartisan legislation signed into law in 2023 was authored by young legislators.

To support our bipartisan policy work and serve as a roadmap for collaboration on future policy discussions, we released the first-ever Innovation Agenda [[link removed]] . Each issue in the Agenda represents an opportunity for lawmakers to effectively work together on solutions and build a better culture of policymaking for the future.

AMPLIFY
While our lawmakers were working hard to change the future of collaborative governance, we were making sure they got the media coverage and attention needed to power this movement to new heights.
This year, Future Caucus and our legislators were featured in national publications such as PEOPLE Magazine [[link removed]] , MSNBC [[link removed]] , Teen Vogue [[link removed]] , NPR [[link removed]] , and the Boston Globe [[link removed]] , as well as in 300+ local press outlets in Delaware [[link removed]] , Pennsylvania [[link removed]] , Arkansas [[link removed]] , Vermont [[link removed]] , Kansas [[link removed]] , Oklahoma [[link removed]] , Alabama [[link removed]] , and Georgia [[link removed]] .

We also announced our partnership with the National Governors Association’s Disagree Better initiative [[link removed]] and were featured at conferences such as SXSW, FORTUNE's Most Powerful Women: Next Gen, the American Democracy Summit, the Exhausted Majority Summit, and the Aspen Institute VisionXChange Conference.

In an effort to showcase examples of quality public leadership and demonstrate how healthy conflict can lead to powerful solutions, we officially launched the Young Lawmakers' Storybank.

To wrap up the year, we hosted the Rising Star Awards [[link removed]] and honored young state and congressional lawmakers who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to building bridges and effective policy making. This year's Rising Star Award recipients were Rep. Dr. Jasmine Clark (D-GA) [[link removed]] and Rep. Michael Smith (R-DE) [[link removed]] . The Cherisse Eatmon Collective Impact Award went to the Vermont Future Caucus [[link removed]] and was accepted by Rep. Casey Toof (R) and Rep. Mary-Katherine Stone (D). The inaugural Generational Changemaker Award was given to Congressman Maxwell Frost (D-FL).

It takes a village to have this much positive impact in a year. Thank you for supporting this movement for a healthier democracy.
As we approach 2024, will you please consider giving $10 to help us host more leadership workshops, catalyze more bipartisan policy, and tell more stories about democracy delivering results? Thanks to a generous donor, each donation, up to $10,000, will be matched. [[link removed]]
Give Now [[link removed]]
Your year-end gift will enable us to continue to connect lawmakers across divides, train them through leadership workshops, catalyze them toward bipartisan policy solutions, and amplify their collaborative work.
Thank you for making this work possible,
