This year, we marked 50 years of unjust practices and failed policies that led to the rise of mass incarceration. Our campaign, 50 Years and a Wake Up, called for the American people to wake up to the devastating consequences of this crisis.

I recognize we’re not going to solve the mass incarceration crisis in the next two days. It takes time and commitment to transform America's complex criminal legal system.

And your support will ensure that we won't give up the fight.

At the current rate of decarceration, it would take 75 years — until 2098 — to return the prison population to pre-mass-incarceration levels. We can’t wait that long to bring much needed change to our legal system. The time to act is now.
