John — I’ll be very blunt.
Right now, it’s hit-or-miss whether or not we meet our $150,000 end-of-year goal. Here’s where things stand:
- Earlier this month, our extremist opponent held a high-dollar fundraiser with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. To keep pace with Mark Robinson before our next public filing deadline, we tried to up our fundraising. But we fell short of our mid-month target.
- November and December are always hard fundraising months; a “holiday slump” is to be expected. But now that we’re less than a year out from Election Day, these slumps can still be deeply detrimental to our campaign’s strength going forward.
- We’re just over 48 hours out from our end-of-year deadline — which is also the next public filing deadline. If we don’t meet our goal, our opponent and the pundits will find out.
Look, I’ve spent years in politics and have been at the forefront of some pretty tough races. It’s no exaggeration to say that this race will be as competitive as any in the nation. National Republican groups see this as their top opportunity for the GOP to pick up a Governor’s Office. They will pounce on a single misstep — and it could cost us victory.
Josh and I need you to help us out, John. Please contribute $25 or another amount that works for you before our critical deadline on Sunday night. We cannot afford to fall short again.
