Seventeen months ago, I gave birth to a beautiful, energetic baby girl, and my entire world changed. It was the first time I had known the joy of seeing the world through the eyes of my own child. It was also the first time I feared my child being taken by violence.

Suddenly, it was imperative for me to do everything I could to keep my daughter safe, both in how I raise her and how I face the world. I know you feel this need too, [name], so join me in raising $30,000 before the end of the year, while every dollar is doubled by our matching fund. 

I refuse to accept a world of senseless shootings – at schools, at public events, in people’s homes. This is why I joined WAVE less than a year after becoming a mother. I must do everything I possibly can to create a world where my daughter will be safe. Where my child and your children, grandchildren, and neighbors can grow up and fulfill their dreams. 

My daughter is my “why” – the reason I do this work. I do not know what your “why” is, but I know you are also committed to this calling.
