Supporter,

The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world.

Polar bears are suffering tremendously as climate change and fossil fuel extraction destroy their fragile habitat. If we do nothing, they will start to go extinct within a few decades.

The sea ice they depend on to hunt is melting. As they're forced to swim further and further in the search for food, they're growing weak and thin.

Even those who manage to feed themselves may not be safe: Mothers and cubs in their dens are in danger of being crushed by large oil company vehicles as they search for drilling sites.

It's not too late to protect these iconic bears and their wild home—but right now we're falling short of our year-end goal, with just two days until the deadline. Make a gift to the Sierra Club today and every dollar will multiply 5x in impact to protect polar bear habitats, block dirty drilling projects in the Arctic, and more.

MATCH MY GIFT 5x

To save polar bears and leave a vibrant, healthy planet to our children and grandchildren we need to stop fossil fuel expansion and protect precious wilderness like the Arctic.

It's possible with your support, Supporter. This year, after decades of work by the Gwich'in peoples, the Sierra Club and partner organizations, we achieved a major victory when President Biden canceled all remaining oil and gas leases in the Arctic Refuge – protecting vast stretches of land in one of Earth's last truly wild places.

And together, we're making meaningful strides in the fight against climate change. We're building momentum to shut down coal plants and cut climate-warming pollution. We're pressuring lawmakers to permanently protect public lands from fossil fuel exploitation. We're empowering local activists to ensure the historic climate investments in the Inflation Reduction Act realize their full potential.

But it's not enough – and we don't have much time.

We must act with urgency to demand bold, decisive climate action before it's too late.

Please, make your year-end gift before the 12/31 deadline while your impact goes FIVE TIMES as far to power the Sierra Club's vital efforts to protect polar bears and defend our planet.

Thank you for helping us meet this moment.
