Bad news: We fell short of our goal to help fund 1,000 holiday meals for our service members ahead of Christmas. And missing this goal is a huge disappointment because many troops rely on the USO for warm meals and community during the holiday season when they’re away from home and loved ones.

But a generous group of our top donors have agreed to match all gifts to the USO, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $50,000 until midnight tonight to help make up the gap! The holidays are always a difficult time to serve, and that’s never been more true than this year.

Instead of spending time with their loved ones right now, many of our courageous service members on active duty are defending against attacks from Iranian-backed militia groups in the Middle East, serving in desolate and snow-covered regions of Eastern Europe to help stem the tide of Russian aggression and preparing to respond to whatever global conflict or disaster will strike next in 2024 and the future.

The least we can do for our service members risking and sacrificing so much during the holiday season is to give these heroes the opportunity to sit down with a warm, hearty meal.
