Like you, I’m a big fan of Elizabeth Warren.
You see, not only have we worked together in Washington, but she was my law professor two decades ago. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch and Elizabeth has been a mentor to me throughout my career — both as a consumer protection advocate and in Congress. I even named my daughter, Betsy, after her.
She and I have plans to work together in the Senate to hold rich special interests accountable and make our government work for working families.
But my public fundraising report from this quarter is going to be one of the last opportunities to demonstrate the strength of this campaign before the primary in March. I’m running against opponents who have lobbyist checks contributing to their fundraising numbers — so I rely on grassroots donations from emails like these to publish a strong report and prove that we’re still competitive.
Additionally, in early January, we have to make some really important spending decisions for our advertising. If we don’t reach our quarterly goal, we’ll be forced to make steep cuts and not be able to reach those undecided voters.
So this is all to say, this is truly a make-or-break moment for me. I’ve always been able to count on my Professor Warren for support, and I hope I can count on you too. I have plans to keep fighting for families by her side in the Senate, but if we fall short now, my time in office is on the line.
Can you please rush a donation now to help me show strength on our public FEC report, help us reach key voters in California, and prove that successful campaigns don’t need corporate cash to win?
Thanks a ton,
Katie Porter
