Dear John,
YOU and all our supporters have made 2023 an incredible year in defending endangered marine wildlife. Thank you to so many who have already given. We deeply appreciate it.
Thanks to your support, 2023 saw new initiatives, like our emerging program to help ensnared sea lions, as well as exciting advances in our long-standing campaigns to protect the Cuvier beaked whales, the Vaquita Porpoise and much, much more.
Starting in 2024, we will be responsible for protecting new species. Operation Milagro will expand our Vaquita protection protocols to include the Totoaba across the entire Vaquita Refuge, we will be co-leading a campaign in Antarctica to help protect the Krill supply in a critical feeding area for whales, and our staff will be on the ground leading the 2024 Stop the Grind campaign in the Faroe Islands. And new campaigns are currently under discussion!
This caps a year that saw a new ship achieve a 90% reduction in illegal fishing activity in the Vaquita Refuge’s Zero Tolerance Zone, an encouraging Vaquita survey that provided evidence of population stabilization after decades of decline, and Sea Shepherd delegations representing our campaigns at the annual Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, the European Union’s Parliament, and much more.
All of this work is possible because of YOU. Sea Shepherd is a donation-driven grassroots movement of people who not only care about nature but also want to impact these conservation issues NOW. We receive no money from any government, and our only obligation is to protect dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, whales, sea lions, and many more species, from illegal fishing and environmental devastation.
Please take a moment to include us in your end of year giving, and check out this seasonal offering from our e-store as well.
