California CD3 going blue in 2024!

We began a journey together in April 2019. The shock of Trump’s election gave way to a great awakening and an unprecedented wave of activism. By helping in my race for US House in the old CD8 in 2020, you helped build a movement in the Sierra Nevada that continues to grow stronger. After redistricting, the Sierra now has one district - CD3 - that has gone from R+12 to R+4 in only 2 Presidential election cycles.

CD3 REGISTRATION HAS GONE FROM R+12 to R+4 IN ONLY TWO CYCLES

I’ll get right to the point: This district is primed to flip. In order to finish what we started together four years ago, we need to raise money to send Jessica Morse to the US House of Representatives in CD3. What’s most compelling in this cycle is our candidate. Jessica Morse, who ran in the old CD4 in 2018, was appointed Deputy Secretary for Forest and Wildland Resilience at the California Natural Resources Agency in 2019. Jessica is working on the frontline of California’s wildfire crisis and fast-tracking wildfire prevention efforts. Last year Jessica was appointed to the U.S. Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission, helping develop recommendations and strategies to reshape national wildfire policies. Who better to serve as our Federal Representative than someone with deep experience in our region’s #1 issue?

Voters are familiar with Jessica. And with her outstanding record on the issues voters in CD3 care most about, her fundraising prowess, outstanding campaign team and our well-run volunteer movement across all 10 counties in the district, Jessica is primed and ready to defeat incumbent Trump sycophant Kevin Kiley. She can do it with our help.

In order to hit her end-of-year goal, which will impact the rating of her race, I promised to help Jessica raise another $50,000 before the clock strikes midnight on 12/31/23. Can you help? For reference, the maximum donation per person in the primary is $3,300 and for the entire cycle is $6,600.

If everyone who receives this email gave $10, we would make it to our $50k goal. But if a couple folks contribute the maximum, that will help get us there before the New Year arrives.

Water: The Sierra Nevada is one of the most important water storage facilities in the US, if not the world. If we protect the watersheds in the Sierra, we protect California’s water.

Protection of Public Lands, Forest Management and Preventing Catastrophic Wildfire: In order to protect our water, we need to modernize and prepare for better forest management. Many of these policies are being implemented but we need Federal funds to increase the pace and scale of this work. We need a representative who will actually work on our behalf.

Protection of Individual Rights: One of the most important issues among voters in CD3 is the protection of reproductive rights, something Kevin Kiley opposes. We held district-wide rallies last summer to make people aware of Kiley’s retrograde positions, and now that Jessica is our endorsed candidate, we can educate voters about their differences.
