It was recently decided on by a 12-member commission that Minnesota will be getting a new state flag and seal. (Pictured Below)

I do not in any way support the calls to change the flag, or the final product(s). The passage of the decision to change the flag was a result of partisan politicians from the DFL deciding to do away with our historical flag and passed on straight party line votes.

Some in this partisan bureaucratic outfit  insisted in the removal of our state founding date, as it is "hurtful". Unironically, this new flag and seal will be adopted on the anniversary day of statehood for Minnesota, which was originally May 11th ,1858. On top of the removal of "1858", they are also removing the phrase "l'etoile du nord" , an homage to the North Star.

Even more disturbing, the decision on these changes was never brought before the people of Minnesota for a vote. Authority was given to a very small group of people. This is now the norm in the Minnesota Legislature. Government for the people by the people is vanishing before our eyes.

Sincerely,

Steve Green
