John, it all happened so fast. In May 2020, my daughter Ella became a big sister. Just three weeks later, we found out she had cancer-stage 4 neuroblastoma, which is notoriously rare and difficult to treat.

I immediately started researching top hospitals in the country for neuroblastoma. It quickly became clear that Children's Hospital Los Angeles was where we needed to be. In the worst moment of our lives, Children's Hospital Los Angeles was there for us-and I want them to be there for the next family, too.

Ella's story has a happy ending, thanks to the doctors in CHLA's Cancer and Blood Disease Institute, the entire care team and the compassion of this caring community: Today, Ella is a happy, healthy 5-year-old. After five rounds of chemotherapy and treatment in a clinical trial, she is clear of the cancer that once threatened her life.

So during this Season of Giving, I'm asking you to make your first gift of $10 or more to Children's Hospital Los Angeles to help ensure more kids like Ella can get the lifesaving care they need.

If you have already made a year-end gift, rest assured that your donation was received. Sometimes our records don't update fast enough to keep recent donors from receiving an appeal like this! CHLA counts on generous supporters like you to deliver lifesaving care for kids every day, and your gift will mean so much for our young patients.
