John, a federal judge just ruled in favor of the new Georgia Congressional maps moving the district I represent over 20 points to Trump.

Earlier in December, the Republican-controlled Georgia state legislature redrew our Congressional maps. In a blatant attempt to force me out of my seat, they gerrymandered the district I represent to favor the GOP by +20 points.

Alongside many voting rights organizations and activists, I vowed to fight against these new maps passing. But today, the federal court made its ruling in favor of these maps.

I won’t sugarcoat it, John: this is a disastrous outcome for voting rights and democracy.

However – I refuse to sit back quietly and let Republicans get their way. I made a promise that I won’t stop fighting in Congress until my communities are kept safe and protected. I won’t let the GOP decide when my time in Congress is over.

Let’s recall that this is the second time Georgia Republicans have drawn a district I represent over 20 points to Donald Trump. I’m fully prepared to return to Congress in 2024.
