[1]Tammy Duckworth

See this little girl?

Young Tammy

Growing up, she learned that through hard work, she could break barriers and accomplish anything she set her mind to.

So, after enlisting in the military, she learned to fly a helicopter and became one of the first handful of women to fly combat missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2004, her Blackhawk helicopter was shot down over Iraq, costing her both legs and partial use of her right arm. She spent a long, painful year at Walter Reed, undergoing surgeries and intensive physical therapy to relearn how to walk on her new prosthetic legs.

But Tammy is as tough as they come. And so she turned these experiences into an opportunity to become a champion for Veterans. She ran for Congress, and eventually won a seat in the U.S. Senate where she is still breaking barriers to this day.

In 2018, she became the first Senator to give birth while serving in office and the first to bring an infant onto the Senate floor, so she could care for her child and do her job serving the people of Illinois at the same time.

With the help of her family, her supporters and her community, Tammy has overcome so many obstacles, and continues to be a fierce advocate for our troops, Veterans and military families in Washington.

Right now, she's counting on this team once again — to hit our fundraising goals for November and help defend our Senate majority in 2024. So please:

Can you make a contribution TODAY — to help Tammy stay on track? Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward defending and expanding our Senate majority and electing people like Tammy all across the country.
