Lauren Boebert announced that she’ll abandon her constituents in Western and Southern Colorado and will instead run in Colorado’s 4th District — a district she doesn’t live in, miles and miles away from her own home district on the other side of the tunnel.
Well, folks, Lauren Boebert can run, but she can’t hide. The good people of Western and Southern Colorado didn’t wait for an election to beat Lauren Boebert — we scared her straight and chased her out of her own district. With this carpetbagging move, Lauren Boebert has shown herself to be everything she claims she isn’t: a typical swampy politician looking for a reason to call Washington D.C. home. She’s a loser in CD3, and she’ll be a loser in CD4 — Coloradans won’t buy her bullshit in 2024.
We launched The 546 Project, our unprecedented year-round organizing program in Western and Southern Colorado earlier this year – more than a year before her Boebert’s next election – to make sure that the constituents of CO-03 are represented by someone committed to protecting our outdoor spaces, expanding healthcare, and making Colorado affordable for everyone. We’re committed to this fight because Western and Southern Colorado deserve better.
And, we know the next frontier of Colorado politics is local. It’s why we were calling and texting voters to win school board seats and city council seats across the state, including in key parts of CO-03 like Alamosa, Gunnison, and Montezuma counties, and in key parts of CO-04 like Douglas and Morgan counties.
We’ve already scared Lauren Boebert away by building the infrastructure Democrats will need to win CO-03 — and we’re doing the same in CO-04.
Coloradans in both CO-03 and CO-04 deserve leaders who truly represent them. Our farmers and ranchers need someone focused on bringing down the high cost of production, not starting foolish trade wars and playing politics, and no one understands that more than folks on the Eastern Plains. Wherever Lauren Boebert is, we’re going to out-organize and out-mobilize her, and we’re going to do the same to MAGA Republicans like her in offices all across the state.
We know the folks in CO-04 won’t take an ounce of Boebert’s carpetbagging. She’s already a loser back in CO-03, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure her career ends in CO-04.
