Friends,
We’ve got a lot to look forward to in 2024, but before we start daydreaming of polls yet to come, we wanted to take a quick peek down memory lane at some of the polls that made waves this year.
Before we get into it, consider making a contribution to support Data for Progress’s independent polling and research. In 2024 we’re going to use our work to fuel the fight for progressive values and we need your support! >>
Some of our most popular polls this year shed light on the state of the nation and gave us a critical look into what voters found important across the nation. Here’s just a snippet of what we found:
-
66% of voters agreed that the U.S. should call for a cease-fire and de-escalation of violence in Gaza
-
LGBTQ+ adults do not feel safe and do not think the Democratic Party is doing enough to protect their rights
-
A No Labels presidential candidate would not be a viable 2024 contender for the presidency, and would instead siphon votes away from President Biden and enable a Trump victory
-
The Social Security Expansion Act has overwhelming, bipartisan support. This legislation extends the solvency of Social Security for 75 years and increases benefits for all recipients by $2,400 per year.
This is just the TLDR; but our year has been filled with impactful polling that helped shape the conversation progressives were having—and often, they cited Data for Progress polling in these very discussions.
Our polling demonstrates the popularity of progressive policies, and we need your support to release more of them in the upcoming election year. Make a contribution today and let’s keep pushing for progress in 2024!
