John,

In 2023, the House of Representatives has seen a record number of retirements. It’s no surprise–From an insurrection to House Speaker chaos and members like George Santos and Marjorie Taylor Greene who undermine the integrity of our work with political theater every day, to threats on the personal safety of members and their families, it’s enough to make people want to throw their hands up and walk away.

However, my foremost commitment remains to deliver tangible outcomes for our community. I don’t let the extremist’s noise and antics get in the way. Whether it's reducing healthcare expenses, safeguarding reproductive rights, or advocating for LGBTQ equality, I channel all my efforts into achieving real results.

Simply put, I won’t walk away because it’s hard. Do you know why? This representation matters–it matters to my community, my kids, and to my country. If every good and decent person were intimidated by the chaos and the threats, the extremists would win. I’m not going to let that happen.

If you support my work and believe in my goal of improving the lives of West Michiganders, I ask for your support in my reelection bid. Let's continue the fight for our community.
