At Send a Cow, we are taking the threat and spread of coronavirus very seriously as this has affected all of us, our colleagues and loved ones. Our main concern now is how to best protect our programme participants, staff, partners and you, our supporters.
With cases being reported in Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia, we are working to support our communities through:
- Increased training and information in hygiene and sanitation (which has always been an integral part of our work)
- Restricting group meetings and re-assessing the ways we carry out our training
- Using technology where possible to communicate across teams
- Ceasing all international travel and limiting non-vital regional travel
In the UK in light of the latest Government advice, we will also be making changes to the way we work, by reducing the number of staff in the office to a minimum. This does mean that we might be slightly more difficult to contact over the coming weeks and might take longer to respond to your requests for information or to thank you for your generous donations.
Please bear with us as we do everything we can to keep working as usual, while keeping the risk to you and our staff to a minimum.
As an organisation, we are well set up to carry on our fundraising and operational work and remain confident that we can continue to work hard and support the most vulnerable communities in Africa.
Thank you
