John,
We need your help now more than ever. This is
an unprecedented time and we are doing all that we can to make sure we
do our part to be good community partners. Our staff will be working
remotely to comply with COVID-19 safety regulations. We will still
respond to all outreach as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your
support as we adjust to this rapidly changing situation.
A crucial part of our work is partnering with schools and
youth-serving agencies to provide classroom and community
presentations to help protect kids from being groomed for sex
trafficking. Schools in Washington are closing for several weeks and
we want our supporters to know that, although our work has to look a
little different, it will not stop. Our communities are facing unique
challenges, and many youth and their families are faced with financial
and safety struggles. We know that exploitation thrives on unmet
needs, so this is a critical time to provide resources and skills for
youth and their families.
We are developing plans to provide our important work to support
communities and prevent kids from being trafficked. We are
reaching out to ask for your support during this time of crisis so we
can keep kids in our community engaged. You can help make this
possible by donating
now.
Our preliminary plans include:
- Developing a plan to engage students, families, educators, and
community members online with the goal of reaching as many people as
possible across the state.
- Partnering with other nonprofits and organizations to increase our
impact and provide local community resources to struggling
families.
Our goal remains unchanged: to reduce the risks of exploitation
through education and prevention. We are going to be tested to
think outside of the box and we need your support to make this
possible.
Thank you so much for your support in this time,
Kyra Doubek http://www.traffickingprevention.org/
