This year is almost over, but our work to eradicate abortion stigma continues.
Earlier this month, A is For held our very first in-person all it takes is ONE ACT Play Festival at the Signature Theatre in NYC. It was a powerful weekend, and during this difficult time for reproductive rights it was so important to come together in community to have open and honest discussions about abortion. |
Anna Watts, Third Place Winner of this year’s Playwriting Contest for [the feminine urge to disappear] shared, “This festival and the work that A is For does for reproductive justice is beyond important. Destigmatizing abortion may not be any easy task, but the steps that A Is For is taking are clear and they are working. I had more conversations about reproductive justice and access to essential healthcare like abortion in one weekend than I ever have. I feel so lucky to have had this experience, and I hope that many people in the future get the opportunity to be involved.”
