John,
It's Commissioner Ted Terry, and I’m officially running for reelection. |
John, the job of making sure DeKalb continues to grow sustainably as a beacon of diversity and progress isn't work I’m ready to give up. |
Here's what I'm fighting for in DeKalb County, Georgia, John:
✅ Executing the DeKalb Green New Deal. We must elevate the realities of the climate crisis, push for bold solutions and help enact meaningful policy solutions to protect our communities. This looks like clean energy, conserving nature and ensuring it is accessible, rooted in environmental justice and equity, for all.
✅ Improving Public infrastructure. Many of the systems in DeKalb are aging and deteriorating. By improving our roads, sidewalks, and trail networks, advocating for sustainable housing, and expanding rapid transit, we can create a County infrastructure that works for all of our residents.
✅ Increasing Access to Healthcare. Americans across the country are suffering from a lack of mental healthcare, abortion care, and even basic medical care – to the point that they have to travel across state lines to receive life saving procedures. We need to be supporting our communities and actively defending our residents from the far-right legislation that cuts folks off from the care they need. |
As Commissioner, I'm going to continue pushing for progressive changes in Georgia – but I need to stay in office to see them through. |
Thank you, Commissioner Ted Terry |
Ted is the former Mayor of Clarkston, Georgia - the most ethnically diverse square mile in America. He was elected as the first and only millennial member of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners in November, 2020.
As DeKalb County Commissioner, Ted continues to push for progressive changes. He is deeply involved in advancing environmental sustainability, improving public infrastructure, advocating for affordable housing, and promoting economic development in the county. Ted is also a passionate advocate for social justice, working tirelessly to ensure equal opportunities for all residents, regardless of their race, religion, or socio-economic status.
Ted and his wife Andrea reside in DeKalb.
