We talk a lot about what Republicans are doing (or not doing) – how they’re chipping away at our reproductive rights, attacking the LGBTQ+ community, enabling an ongoing and devastating gun violence epidemic, and, of course, destroying the foundations of our democracy.
But this is just as important: My Democratic colleagues in the House and I are actually working every day to make things better for more Americans – and we’re getting a lot done!
Here are just a few of the things I’ve been focused on this year:
- I introduced the bipartisan Drug Shortage Prevention Act to prevent shortages of essential drugs and minimize the impacts on children and families.
- We passed into law the Military Food Security Act which will improve food security for service members and their families.

We voted to prevent two reckless federal government shutdowns which would have hurt millions of Americans and cost our service members their paychecks.
- I introduced the SAFER Health Act, which would strengthen HIPAA laws and protect Americans' private health data.

I introduced the Child Care Stabilization Act to invest billions of dollars to address the child care crisis and help more American families access safe and affordable childcare.
I’m proud of this work, and you should be too – because you are the reason any of this is possible.
In January, I’m going to hit the ground running and keep fighting for you. But before we can get there, we’re facing one last FEC filing deadline of the year – and it’s a big deal, because it’s the very first fundraising report that will be made public in 2024.
So I’m asking for your help. I’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 online for my re-election campaign by midnight on December 31st. If we do that, we can close out 2023 strong and enter 2024 ready to win big and defeat extreme Republicans like my MAGA opponent.
