I am so grateful to work at an organization made up of motivated, thoughtful,
strategic teammates Dear John,

As I take this moment to reflect on 2023, I am so grateful to work at an
organization made up of motivated, thoughtful, strategic teammates. Thanks to
the efforts of our staff, contractors, board, partner organizations, and
funders, the democracy reform movement is stronger than ever.

With a clean sweep on Election Day, the movement has won 27 city ballot measures
for ranked choice voting (RCV) in a row. Boulder, CO implemented RCV for its
elections this fall, and 86% of voters found the process easy, leading Colorado
Gov. Jared Polis to endorse RCV.

2024 is poised to be a critical year for our work, and we will hit the ground
running in January. This is why I’m asking you to make a final year-end gift to
support FairVote’s work in 2024.

Our programs team is laser focused on the presidential primaries that will use
RCV in 2024, and on key opportunities to pass RCV ballot measures and
legislation. Our guiding reform, the Fair Representation Act, is set to be
reintroduced in Congress, and our team will build support on and off the Hill.
Organizers in nearly 30 cities will pursue RCV ballot measures in 2024, and
FairVote will be a key supporter of these efforts. We’ll also continue to bring
you timely news on the RCV movement, as we have over the past year.

It has been an honor to guide our programs team through 2023, and to achieve so
much together. I hope you will support our work for 2024, and I wish you and
yours a happy new year.
