John, I hope you had a LOVELY holiday, and I could feel the energy around my family and our community while school's been out of session.

The Central Valley has never gone through an election quite like this, so I want to make sure you were caught up:

FIRST: Kevin McCarthy's official exit from Congress on the 31st means Governor Newsom is slated to announce a Special Election for CA-20. It will happen RIGHT ALONGSIDE our normal election.

THEN: With our deadline to get on the ballot this month, my Democratic opponent dropped out and endorsed us! (Oh, and Kevin McCarthy's hand-picked Republican was unable to run for this seat due to an issue with his filing paperwork 💅🏻)

NOW: The 31st is ALSO our End of Year Fundraising Deadline—our numbers will go public soon after, and journalists as well as political analysts will use these numbers as a sign of who's ahead and who's behind. 

 John, we still need to raise $11,817 more online to meet our End of Year Fundraising Goal. Momentum is behind us, and things are looking harder and harder for Republicans in this district.
