As the coronavirus outbreak grows more serious, the health and safety of
Southwest Washington residents and all Americans are my top priorities
Friends and Supporters,
As the coronavirus outbreak grows more serious, the health and safety of
Southwest Washington residents and all Americans are my top priorities, and I
am committed to protecting lives and providing emergency relief during this
public health crisis.
We know that this crisis requires swift action. The House approved an
emergency economic and public health relief package that funds free coronavirus
testing, paid sick leave, and food programs in an effort to temper the
financial hardship of this outbreak on American families. It's my hope Congress
sends it to the president as quickly as possible.
Additionally, we must all do our part to get through this. If we take the
necessary steps and act decisively and rapidly - and not out of fear - we will
get through this.
WHO TO CALL FOR HELP:
If you suspect you have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19), please call
your doctor or local health department FIRST for further direction before going
straight to your medical provider or the hospital. This helps ensure the safety
of all healthcare workers, other patients, and yourself.
I also encourage you to visit www.coronavirus.gov

and ways to keep yourself and your loved ones safe during this outbreak,
including:
* Washing your hands
* Cleaning frequently touched objects and surfaces
* Avoiding contact with those who are sick
* Staying home if you are sick
As our nation works to temper this outbreak, I will continue to work with my
colleagues in Congress and public health officials to chart our course forward
and protect the health and safety of the people of Southwest Washington and the
country.
Together, I know we can overcome this crisis.
Stay healthy.
Thanks,
Jaime Herrera Beutler
