Do you know what impresses me most each day? It is the resilience of the people whom the ICRC supports.
Dear John,
I hope you are well!
I would like to share something with you today. Something that impresses me every day. It is the resilience of people struck by terrible tragedies.
Like little Maria in Afghanistan, who lost a leg when an earthquake destroyed her home earlier this year. Thanks to the ICRC’s network, she was quickly fitted with a prosthesis at our physical rehabilitation centre in Faizabad. Since then, she has been bravely learning to walk, and her progress has been amazing!
Maria is a real source of daily inspiration for me. And she is not the only one. There are countless stories of people like Maria. It is they who motivate me; it is for them that I get up each day and go to work.
Where war and conflict strike, when chaos and despair reign, the ICRC brings help, compassion and hope. I am proud to be part of this vital support network. Especially at a time like this, when solidarity is so important.
You too can be there for people in distress. Thanks to your support, we can continue our work in Ukraine, Israel and the occupied territories, Yemen, Sudan, the Sahel region and many other places. We can also respond quickly and effectively to new emergencies.
Support us today with a donation ([link removed] ) so that we can continue to help the most vulnerable in war zones around the world that are hardest to get to.
With a gift of:
- 60 Swiss francs, you can give warm winter coats to ten children in crisis areas;
- 120 Swiss francs, you can supply two families with hygiene kits for four months;
- 150 Swiss francs, you can provide a food parcel covering the needs of a child and his or her family for three months.
Together, we can be there when it matters most.
Yes, I will make a donation!
