Dear John,
It’s been a dark year, but we aren’t giving up hope - and you shouldn’t, either.
In 2024, we’ll be fighting for peace, just like we do every year. There is so much to fight for - for the children of Gaza and the West Bank, for Ukrainians about to head into a third year of war, and for people here in the U.S. who have slid back into poverty as pandemic-era supports ended.
Despite the darkness, we have hope. Our movement allies have risked arrest to save lives in Gaza. Our youth immigrant allies have tasked Congress to protect their futures in this country, to stop the detentions and deportations that separate families and devastate communities. And our climate movement allies have continued to fight the preservation of fossil fuel interests that threaten us all.
Let’s make 2024 the year that we turn things around.

Our work is behind the scenes - crunching numbers, writing reports, and providing credible analysis that gives our movement allies the strong foundation they need to win these fights. This year, we told the truth to whoever was there to listen:
* That 62 percent of the federal discretionary budget was for militarism, from war and weapons to deportations and prisons.
* That the average taxpayer gave $1,086 for Pentagon contractors, but just $6 for renewable energy.
* That spending on deportations and immigrant detentions has doubled in the past twenty years, while our immigration system remains hopelessly broken.
With your support, we’ll continue to tell the truth about our government’s real priorities. We’ll continue to back up powerful movements in the streets, in the media, and in the halls of Congress. We can make 2024 a year of forward progress.
Your support allows us to keep telling these truths. We are so grateful that you’re with us.
