Hi there --
Two years ago, when Run for Something was still just a handful of people working from our couches (you know, instead of a lot of people working from our couches), we surprised everyone except ourselves when a whole bunch of our diverse, young, progressive candidates in Virginia won.
Those winners have been kicking ass across the state, but Virginians are still under the thumb of the state GOP, which has been stonewalling efforts to move forward on preventing gun violence and more.
I know we can give Virginians better than do-nothing Republican legislators. Today, make an investment in our plan by donating $10 to fund recruitment and support efforts in Virginia.

Subject: How you can help flip nine state legislatures in 2020:
Hi there --
After the tragic school shooting in Parkland last year, Donald Trump sent along his thoughts and prayers -- while states passed fifty laws to take on gun violence. We can't count on the federal government to act as long as Mitch McConnell is in the driver's seat, but state legislators don't need the Senate's permission to make life better for the millions of people they represent.
We can flip one state legislature blue as soon as this fall: in Virginia, where the state GOP refused to even consider legislation during a special session specifically on reducing gun violence. Donate $10 or whatever you can to help recruit and support young people in Virginia and across the country who are ready to get in there and get things done.

Our candidates have ideas for the problems that their communities are facing, and they've committed the time it really, truly takes to talk to hundreds or thousands of voters about their concerns. And unlike a big national election, state legislative races aren't won on Twitter or in the FEC reports: you win by having the right ideas and talking with the most people about those ideas.
We can make sure that Virginians start 2020 with new representation and a new chance for progress -- chip in today.
Thanks!
