2024 Election Coverage Could Get Bumpy!

Dear reader
I am thrilled to be joining The American Prospect team to cover the 2024
elections. My first column will post on January 3rd! We are calling it
"The Infernal Triangle," which is also the name of my next book.

The triangle represents the three forces that have succeeded in getting
America within spitting distance of losing its democracy: Republican
authoritarianism, Democratic timorousness, and media incompetence.
That incompetence is appalling. Elite media analysis of the black and
white evidence of a coup has far too often played out according to the
ossified habits of normal political journalism-questions like, "who's
winning the messaging war?" This is shameful.
The Prospect, like the best of alternative media, gets it right again
and again on stories the mainstream misses. The Prospect team
understands that facilitating citizenship is literally why the founders
came up with the "free press" part of the First Amendment in the first
place. We will make sure you know what is really at stake. Come along
for the ride - it's going to get bumpy.
