Dear Friend,
As 2023 draws to a close, I wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you in Congress and thank you for subscribing to my eNewsletter.
We have accomplished much in 2023 to advance the conservative agenda and keep the Republican commitment to America.
I wanted to highlight a few things about this past year that show the importance of my work in D.C. and the value of the Third Congressional District of Mississippi to the rest of the United States.
One of our biggest assets is Key Field in Meridian. I, along with the entire Mississippi Delegation in Washington, have been working to promote Key Field as the home for the new KC-46 aircraft to ensure it maintains its air refueling mission. This is extremely important not just for Mississippi, but also the entire United States.
Additionally, our research universities—Mississippi State University (MSU) and the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC)—are significant to our district and state, and I have continued working to further their important initiatives. This past year I have spent a lot of time in Starkville keeping up to date on all the research that is being conducted across MSU’s campus. There are various projects from unmanned aerial systems to wildlife preservation to high performance computing that are continuing to advance Mississippi State’s national status as a premier research University in the world. I also am proud of UMMC’s efforts as our state’s academic medical center. This year, I have continued to work with UMMC to support its leadership in telehealth, critical healthcare research for our state, and its on-campus safety initiatives.
Lastly, the best and most important asset to Mississippi’s Third Congressional District is YOU. Because of each of you, I have the opportunity to advance these projects and serve the people of the best state in the union. This year, my staff and I have put you front and center, traveling the Third District to better understand your needs. My staff hosted Constituent Services Day across the Third District in each county where I do not have an office. These days are a way for communities to come together, meet my staff, and allow us the opportunity to assist you with any issue you might have with a federal agency, like Veterans Affairs or the IRS.
Thank you to each of you for allowing me to serve. I am excited for what 2024 will bring. May God bless you and your family. Please join me in prayer as we dedicate 2024 to the glory of God.
