This is a friendly reminder that the League’s 41st Annual Scholarship Awards program is right around the corner! The application will open Friday, January 5th and extend until Friday, February 16th, 2024, at 5 p.m. The program is open to college-bound 2024 high school graduates who are dependents of active, retired or reserve LAPPL members (lieutenant rank and below only), who have held continuous membership in the League for more than one year prior to the scholarship application submission date. Multiple winners are awarded up to $10,000 in scholarships each year, split into two disbursements their first and second year with continued proof of meeting minimum GPA standards. This year, the Board of Directors has decided to increase the Scholarship fund from $60,000 to $65,000 allowing for more winners!

Following the online application window, an in-person essay will be administered on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 10am. No alternative arrangements will be made for the essay date. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!

Essays will be judged on the applicant’s ability to analyze the essay question and appropriately respond to it in writing. Finalists will then be selected by the League Scholarship Committee. Completed online applications and official transcripts (digital or physical) must be received by the League NO LATER than February 16, 2024, at 5 p.m.
