On Truth Social, former President Donald Trump celebrated triumph following the Michigan Supreme Court's rejection of a Democratic-backed lawsuit aiming to exclude him from the 2024 primary election ballot in the state. Trump asserted, "The Michigan Supreme Court has resoundingly rejected the desperate attempt by Democrats to remove the leading candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election, myself, from the ballot in the Great State of Michigan." He highlighted the nationwide failure of similar tactics, singling out Colorado as the sole state succumbing to such efforts.

Addressing the controversial decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 ballot, Trump criticized the move, saying, "We must prevent the 2024 Election from being rigged and stolen, just like they stole 2020." He expressed concerns about the state of the country under President Biden and emphasized the need to "Make America Great Again.

Various far-left legal groups have sought to disqualify Trump from primary ballots in over a dozen states, invoking Section III of the 14th Amendment, which prohibits individuals engaged in "insurrection" from running for federal office. Despite Trump not facing charges related to the alleged "insurrection" on January 6, 2021, the Colorado Supreme Court made an unprecedented decision to exclude him from the ballot, prompting Trump to pledge an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ongoing challenges persist in numerous states, with Michigan's appeals court previously dismissing a complaint from the left-wing legal organization Attorneys for Free Speech for People. The court determined that Michigan's secretary of state lacked the authority to prevent Trump from appearing on the state's ballot.
