Run for Something

A quick note: In following CDC guidelines, we're postponing all events until at least the end of April. This has a direct impact on our fundraising for the next two months; if you were thinking about supporting Run for Something this year, your generosity is especially needed right now as we make up the gap. If you'd like to get involved from home, you can sign up to volunteer here.

Hi there --

The guy in the White House sucks. But no matter who's sitting in the Oval Office, state government have huge amounts of control over the lives of millions of people. And right now, in the absence of a national leader, state governments are stepping up to protect their communities during this health crisis by offering clear public guidance, closing schools, ensuring access to basic resources, and more.

I have to note -- because I'm me -- that the states that haven't offered any public action or guidance? They're largely Republican-controlled. The response to a major public event like this one shouldn't be partisan, but the fact that it is underlies how important it is that we elect more people to office who understand what it might be like to be suddenly cut off from your source of income without any answers or direction from your government.

Help put more young progressives into more local and state seats by making a donation today.
