Dear Friends,

As we reflect on 2023, we are proud of our progress and the many lives we have touched— work we could not have done without your help. Founded by three moms in 2018, Parents Against Vaping has become the national parent voice fighting to protect kids from the dangers of vaping and the predatory behavior of the vaping and tobacco industries.

We are particularly grateful for our generous partners and for our passionate volunteers who share their time, energy, and resources to help us educate parents about the ongoing youth vaping crisis; advocate for laws ending sales of flavored tobacco products; and support families struggling with their children's nicotine addiction.

Together, over the past year we have:

  • Mobilized parents across the country to help pass laws ending flavored tobacco sales in localities in Maine, Oregon, Ohio and Colorado. At the end of 2022, we and our coalition partners scored a huge win in California, making it only the second state in the nation to outlaw sales of all flavored tobacco. This past October, Governor Newsom signed into law AB 935 that strengthens enforcement of this law.
  • Convened our third annual Clear the Vapor Conference - a free, virtual event run by and for parents providing important access to the latest research, emerging issues and practical solutions. This year’s event drew nearly 2500 registrants.
  • Conducted nearly 75 educational and training events, reaching hundreds of parents, educators, and other adult stakeholders. We connected with them virtually and also in person in California, South Dakota, Kansas, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey.
  • Piloted POISON (Parents Opposing Illegal Sales of Nicotine) with New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, a project that empowers parents to report retailers selling illegal flavored vaping products, often to minors. POISON highlights the proliferation of illegal tobacco retailers (who also illegally sell cannabis) and a serious lack of enforcement. The information was shared with multiple city agencies and included in NYC’s landmark legal actions taken against major distributors.
  • Highlighted JUUL’s targeting of teens and our work beating back the industry in the Netflix docu-series Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul. According to series director RJ Cutler, JUUL’s entering our sons’ high school “..awakened the sleeping bear of America’s mothers. That’s when things got really bad for JUUL.”
  • Celebrated our fifth anniversary!! (You can see the virtual birthday card here.

We've accomplished a lot in the past five years, but there is still so much more to do. Your financial support allows Parents Against Vaping, a volunteer-led and -powered nonprofit, to continue our critical work protecting all of our kids. We hope you will consider making a generous donation. Please click here or use the donate button below.

Wishing you and those you love a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season and a great new year!
