I know that when I send emails about how much money we have to raise and how expensive this race is going to be, it’s not always apparent how a $5 contribution can make a difference. But it’s true: donations to emails like this make up the majority of individual contributions to this campaign, and a full third of the money we raise every quarter.
But every dollar we raise is more than just a number in a spreadsheet – it’s someone who is taking a chance to invest in a campaign they believe in. Before 2008, email donations weren’t really a big thing, and now I don’t know a single campaign that doesn’t rely on them.
