As reported by them magazine, and as we know firsthand, 2023 was a record year for attacks on LGBTQ+ rights. Jumpstart 2024 with the RiseOut Action Team and a renewed commitment to LGBTQ+ rights in New York State. 

2024 is a critical year for both national and state elections, and we need your help to ensure the needs of LGBTQ+ New Yorkers are a top priority for candidates and legislators. 

Join us for our first RiseOut Action Team meeting of the year on Thursday, January 18, at 6 p.m. 

 
 

ICYMI: Center the Culture Black Holiday Market

On Saturday, December 11, The Center hosted its Center the Culture Black Holiday Market. This curated shopping experience featured Black LGBTQ+ small businesses, artisans, and creatives. More than 200 people attended and shopped to support small businesses. If you weren’t able to attend, you can still support some of our vendors.

Center hosts first Marsha Sylvia Listening Session

​​​​​​On Tuesday, November 28, our Advocacy team hosted a listening session discussing ways The Marsha & Sylvia Plan will ensure lawmakers understand the needs of LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers and are equipped to meet those needs across nine issue areas: Arts & Culture; Education, Government Operations; Health; Housing & Homelessness; Older Adults; Public Safety; Sex Work; and Youth & Foster Care.
