New Orleans has officially ramped up its Coronavirus-prevention efforts. In case you didn’t see the news — all casinos, gyms, theaters, and other non-essential businesses are closed, and all New Orleanians are encouraged to stay indoors. Restaurants and bars will only be open for delivery or take-out options.

If you’re wondering what you can do to also help stop the spread of the virus, there’s three things you should know:

1. How do you best prevent spreading the virus?
Practice effective hygiene methods by washing your hands for at least 20 seconds or using a hand sanitizer with 60-90% alcohol content.

2. If you do catch the virus, how do you act quickly to treat it?
The first thing a health professional will ask you is if you have a fever (a body temperature of at least 100.4 degrees), so be sure to have an oral thermometer on hand when you contact your doctor.

3. What other preventative measures can you take?
While you’re at the pharmacy, make sure your prescriptions are filled and you’re stocking up on food and health supplies like fever reducers, vitamins, and additional medication.
