EARTHJUSTICE | BECAUSE THE EARTH NEEDS A GOOD LAWYER
MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT: $2:$1 Match from Earthjustice
Dear Friend,
This is a long email, because I want you to know exactly why I’m asking you to make a year-end donation to Earthjustice.
First, I want to tell you about our impact. In the last 50 years, Earthjustice has won thousands of public-interest cases for our environment. With 200 full-time attorneys, we’re the largest legal organization fighting to protect our planet in court.
You may have heard about our lawsuits against the Willow project and the Alaska Liquified Natural Gas Project, our case in Florida to save starving manatees, or our multi-year legal battle to ban the pesticides that wreak havoc on honey bees.
But Earthjustice also fights in communities big and small to protect children from toxic lead exposure, safeguard farmworkers from harmful pesticides like chlorpyrifos and paraquat, keep waterways clean from poisonous chemical runoff, and defend people most at risk from dangerous and cancer-causing air pollution. And we win.
To help us win even more fights for our planet’s future, the Earthjustice Advocates have doubled their match terms to $2:$1 until the end of the year. Donate now to triple your impact.
MATCH MY GIFT $2:$1
Second, I want you to know how important your partnership with us is. In every case, we represent our clients free of charge. Your generosity can help make that possible. Every manatee we save, toxic pesticide we ban, and community that we defend is proof that your investment in this mission matters.
Last, I want to ask for your support before midnight on December 31. Earthjustice has a powerful presence in the courts and is rising to meet the demands of the environmental crisis thanks to the support of people like you.
Your donation will be matched $2:$1 until the end of the year. Can you help us defend the future of our planet with a donation today?

Last month, Earthjustice sued to save west coast steelhead and salmon from 6PPD-q, a toxic chemical that comes from tire rubber. 6PPD-q can kill 100% of coho salmon in a stream as they return to spawn, and the fish die within hours of exposure.
In this case, we represent fishermen who have been out of work for months because this poison has depleted the salmon population. And it’s not just fishermen who rely on salmon — it’s entire ecosystems.
6PPD-q is just one toxin among many that we fight to keep out of our ecosystems and our communities.
  • Earlier this month, we overturned an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) decision that allowed use of the powerful antibiotic streptomycin on citrus trees, a misguided decision that threatened farmworkers and honey bees alike.
  • In October, we filed arguments in the Supreme Court to defend the Good Neighbor Rule, which requires power plants and other industrial sources to reduce their ozone-forming pollution.
  • In 2021, we successfully banned the neurotoxic pesticide chlorpyrifos, but the Eighth Circuit Court opened the door for some uses to return last month. Now we are advocating for the EPA to step in and complete the ban.
  • In November, we achieved a major win when the EPA proposed a mandate to remove all lead pipes within 10 years — an action in response to successful Earthjustice community partnerships and litigation.
These fights show that with your partnership, we can take on big fights and win. And even as our adversaries grow more powerful, we can rise together to meet this moment.
To help us reach our $450,000 end of year email fundraising goal, a group of dedicated supporters has come together to form the Earthjustice Advocates Match. Until December 31, our online match has been increased to $2:$1 to triple your impact.
Please take advantage of this time-sensitive match opportunity and donate today — to protect our health, our planet, and our future.
