Dear JOHN,
If we haven’t met, I’d like to introduce myself: my name is Joe Pereles (rhymes with my nickname, “Fearless”) and I am a Democrat running for the Missouri State Senate (District 15 in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri)—an open seat and rare flip opportunity in 2024.
Like many of you, I am distressed by what passes for “politics” these days: the anger and the endless outrage; people treating each other as enemies instead of fellow Americans; the loudest voices in the room bullying their opposition into silence. Like you, I yearn for a better system, more civil conversations about real issues, and putting people in charge who we can actually trust.
Too many of us look at what’s happening in the world, in our government, and in our neighborhoods and shake our heads at how our leaders seem to fail us. From the most restrictive and dangerous abortion ban in the country, to galling corruption and disdain for democracy in Jefferson City—the people of Missouri can’t afford any more of this.
This isn’t the state in which my wife and I raised our kids. This isn’t the future we wanted to leave them.
Running for office was never in my plan. I’ve had a fulfilling and rewarding career practicing law, in both private practice and as Senior Vice President for Development & General Counsel for Drury Hotels. My life’s work has revolved around making deals that benefit everyone in the long-term—coming up with win-win situations that lay the foundations for a brighter future.

I’m not running for fame or fortune, or to demonize my political opponents: I’m running because I cannot stand to watch Missouri slide to the bottom any longer, and I must stand up and do something about it because we can do better.
We will win if we come together, organize, and fight—that’s why I need you on my side, JOHN.
My friends call me ‘Fearless’ because I have been known to take on tough challenges and never back down. When it comes to restoring our rights, fighting to preserve our democracy, and turning things around in this great state, we will all need to take on this task with courage and tenacity.
I am proud to be a candidate for elected office for the first time in my life—and to work for a better future for my two young granddaughters and for you.
I humbly ask for your support and your involvement, however you can give it. Please visit my website to learn more about me and why I am running, sign up to get involved, or to make a donation to my campaign. [[link removed]]
The days ahead will test all of us, and I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you to face our challenges head on, together. Thank you so much, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can ever be of service.
Yours in Service & Gratitude,
Joe Pereles
Democrat for Missouri’s 15th State Senate District

P.S. There are no easy answers to our problems, but I know that the path to change starts with us, right here and right now. If you can, I would be honored if you would make a contribution of any amount to my campaign: [[link removed]]
