2024 is about ready to rock and roll. And at VoteWater, so are we.
The Florida Legislature convenes Jan. 9 and session runs through March 8. Several dirty-water proposals have already been filed; more are sure to follow. We’ll be tracking them all, and we’ll make it easier for you to weigh in.
Beyond this, 2024 is looking like it could be a year of discharges for the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee estuaries.
And of course, 2024 is an election year, and all that portends.
Over the years many VoteWater supporters have said they back us because we “get loud.” On the surface, much has changed since we were founded as Bullsugar.org in 2014. But with harmful algae blooms a yearly threat on Lake Okeechobee, and with the next discharge-fed tide fed always around the next corner, we haven’t really solved our problems.
So in 2024 we pledge to GET LOUD when conditions warrant it. We're in it to win it — and if you are too, check our latest blog post for more about what we've got up our sleeves in the new year.
