After my team and I got back to work after the holidays, we officially set our last end-of-quarter fundraising goal of 2023: 40,000 individual donations.
In a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip in toward our most ambitious goal yet before our big deadline on Sunday. But first, please let me tell you about why this goal matters — and what will happen if we don’t hit it.
Before I explain anything else, I want you to know that this isn’t some arbitrary goal. Staying on track means we’ll enter 2024 in the strongest position possible, with the resources to keep holding Hawley accountable by reaching Missouri voters with our message throughout the year. Falling behind could mean something very different.
So this week, my team and I are going to do everything we can to hit this goal and make sure we’re prepared for the fight ahead — including asking grassroots supporters like you to chip in $10, $25, or whatever you think is best before Sunday’s deadline. Can I count on you, John?

From the moment we got into this race back in January, Josh Hawley and the GOP insiders propping up his campaign have been determined to tear me down. And with the help of grassroots supporters like you — chipping in and sharing our message when you can — we’ve made it clear: they’re right to be scared.
Just a few days after we launched this campaign, National Journal said our race “represents one of the Democratic Party’s better offensive targets” in 2024.
And since then, we’ve made that a reality by breaking Missouri fundraising records and building a truly people-powered coalition to take back this Senate seat with support from the Missouri AFL-CIO, the Missouri Fire Fighters, elected officials and community leaders across the state, and national organizations like League of Conservation Voters.
Now multiple polls even show this race in a statistical tie.
That’s why GOP insiders and corporate mega-donors put more than $1 MILLION into a brand new Super PAC to attack me — and it’s why national Republicans are dumping money into Josh Hawley’s campaign.
They know that Hawley is the most vulnerable GOP senator up for re-election next year — with even worse approval ratings than Ted Cruz in Texas and Rick Scott in Florida. And they can tell we’re putting together a powerful grassroots movement that’s capable of winning this race, flipping this U.S. Senate seat, and taking back power for real working people.
So now, we need to be prepared to head off the attacks that are already happening from those GOP insiders AND keep holding Hawley accountable by getting our message in front of voters — and that’s why I need your help today, John.

When we defeat Josh Hawley and flip this seat, I promise you this: We’re going to shake things up in the U.S. Senate.
Together, we’ll secure voting rights, outlaw war profiteering, legalize weed, abolish corporate PACs, empower workers in their workplaces, and stand up to Big-Brother-style attacks on abortion access from control-obsessed politicians like Josh Hawley.
We’ll stop handing out money for Wall Street and forever wars, and start rebuilding communities in Missouri and all across the country. And we’ll create the next generation of energy jobs right here at home.
