John— As we enter the final days of 2023, I’ve been thinking a lot about the hope I have for the future of the gun safety movement. Over the past year, we’ve made some incredible progress—and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. In 2023, 24 states and Washington DC passed 103 gun safety laws, bringing the total number of significant laws passed since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary to 620. President Biden also created the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention—a major step in addressing this crisis at the highest levels of our government. And thanks to his leadership, the federal agency that oversees firearms issued a rule to push this country closer to universal background checks than we’ve ever been. GIFFORDS Law Center marked its 30th anniversary this year as well, celebrating the event with supporters and First Lady Jill Biden. We’ve worked closely with courageous survivors, legislators, and advocates for three decades now—and we aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Our fight is far from over, but it’s worth taking a step back to mark important milestones that wouldn’t have been possible without your support and hard work. You give me so much hope about all we can accomplish. [ [link removed] ]Can you make a donation to help us maintain our momentum in 2024? I’m wishing you and yours all the best this holiday season. Gratefully, Gabby
