Here are some of the things we learned from the analysis of our 2022 work:
-
VoteRiders’ work targets the individuals who are most often left out of voter mobilization efforts and who are disproportionately impacted by voter ID laws. Campaigns and parties often ignore these “low propensity” or unlikely voters, but VoteRiders has made them the focus of our work to expand the electorate.
-
VoteRiders’ ID assistance efforts resulted in higher-than-average voter registration rates and first-time voting rates, demonstrating our effectiveness at bringing new voices into the electoral process that were previously silenced.
-
Strategically and precisely targeting eligible voters whose ballots were rejected for ID-related reasons saw exceptional results in 2022, and shows promise for that approach in 2024.
VoteRiders’ work is critical to enabling all the other advocacy, organizing, messaging, and turnout operations of any election, because if voters don’t have the necessary ID, then registration and GOTV efforts won’t work. We’re fulfilling an important and specific need, removing a barrier that millions of voters face if they want to cast a ballot that counts.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on our donors to power all our efforts. We could not do this highly impactful work without the support of our donors.
Make your tax-deductible donation today so we can meet our $200,000 year-end goal and reach more than 10 MILLION voters ahead of next year’s elections!
