New York Times Publishes Op-Ed from Mayor of Gaza City Who Was Appointed by Hamas

Daily Wire: The New York Times, which has repeatedly sounded the alarm about the publishing of misinformation, was harshly criticized for publishing an op-ed from the mayor of Gaza City, who was appointed by Hamas in 2019. Unwittingly or not in his attempt to claim that Israel had destroyed Gazans’ lives and culture, Mayor Yahya R. Sarraj gave the lie to the constant claim from Palestinian supporters that Gaza had been an “open-air prison” before the Israeli response to Hamas’ massacre of 1,200 Israelis on October 7. Sarrak quotes the Gaza Health Ministry, which has historically lied about casualties, about the number of deaths from the Israeli response (Daily Wire). HotAir: He also doesn’t mention, no less condemn, the keeping of hostages in his city, nor the fact that the city is riddled with Hamas tunnels, which exist for the sole purpose of providing a military base for the terrorist group of which he is a part (HotAir). Amuse: Flashback: Remember the time that the editor of the New York Times had to resign for allowing a US Senator’s Op-Ed to appear in the paper? Will the editor have to resign for running a Hamas leader’s op-ed in the paper (X)? Honest Reporting: The NYTimes published a guest essay by Gaza City’s Mayor. The problem? Hamas appointed him, and The Times failed to mention it (X).

Iran Threatens Israel After IRGC Senior Commander Killed in Israeli Airstrike
Times of Israel: A senior officer in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed Monday in an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital of Damascus. According to the semi-official Iranian Tasnim news agency, Brig. Gen. Razi Mousavi was killed in a strike in the Damascus suburb of Sayeda Zeinab. Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi vowed that Israel “will certainly pay for this crime” (Times of Israel). HotAir: Rather than threatening or “warning” Israel, the world should be thanking them. The only reason that Seyed Razi Mousavi is no longer plaguing the civilized people of the world is that Bibi Netanyahu is doing the job that Joe Biden refuses to undertake. Iran has been attacking international targets including American military vessels with impunity recently (HotAir).

U.S. Retaliates Against Iran-Backed Terrorists Who Launched Drone Strike on American Base Injuring Three
National Review: President Joe Biden ordered retaliatory air strikes on three sites in Iraq on Monday after Iran-backed terrorists launched a drone attack on a U.S. military base, wounding three American service members, including one who is in critical condition. U.S. officials say that Kataib Hezbollah terrorists in Iraq attacked the Erbil Air Base in northern Iraq early on Monday. The base has been targeted several times (National Review). Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin: Today, at POTUS’ direction, U.S. military forces conducted necessary & proportionate strikes on 3 facilities used by Kataib Hezbollah & affiliated groups in Iraq. These precision strikes are a response to a series of attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq & Syria by Iranian-sponsored militias, including an attack by Iran-affiliated Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups on Erbil Air Base earlier today (X).

Video Reveals Planned Parenthood’s Operation of Assisting Minors with Abortions Without Parental Consent
Life News: A new undercover video just busted the nation’s biggest abortion business. A Planned Parenthood employee is shown on the video admitting that the abortion giant takes teen girls out of state for secret abortions. While abortion is prohibited by state law in Missouri, this has not stopped Planned Parenthood from taking minor girls to neighboring Kansas for secret abortions. In the new Project Veritas video, a Managing Director for Planned Parenthood in Kansas City, Missouri, explains how frequently clinics arrange inter-state abortion transport for minors without parental consent. Managing Director “Lashauna” describes the elaborate lengths the abortion giant will go to facilitate, and help conceal, abortions for minors (Life News). Project Veritas: MOM CAN’T KNOW: Planned Parenthood Transports Minors Across State Lines for Secret Abortions. “We never tell the parents anything.” – Managing Director, Kansas City, Missouri (X). Libs of TikTok: The State of Virginia is working with Planned Parenthood to cut out parents from their child’s medical decisions. Planned Parenthood of Virginia admits they will assist minors cross state lines to get abortions & fund it without their parents’ knowledge. They also say they’ve never seen a minor not get approved for a judicial bypass which means judges across Virginia are approving every single minor to get abortions without parental knowledge or consent (X).

Biden’s Executive Order Giving Historic Pay Raises to All Federal Employees Passes
Washington Post: Federal employees will receive pay raises averaging 5.2 percent — more in some high-salary areas — under an order President Biden signed Thursday that delivers the biggest increase to U.S. government workers since the Carter administration. The salary hike for the federal civilian workforce of close to 2.2 million people is the heftiest since a 9.1 percent average raise in 1980. It’s 0.6 percentage points higher than last year’s increase, which itself was the highest in two decades, and will take effect in the first full pay period of 2024, starting Jan. 14 for most federal employees (Washington Post). Spencer Brown: The slap-in-the-face to hardworking American taxpayers in the private sector — who are of course on the hook for the cost of the wage increase — comes after “Build Back Better” and now “Bidenomics” caused inflation to surge to 40-year highs, sent interest rates to levels not seen since early 2001, and brought Americans more than 24 consecutive months of negative real wages. Yet, for all the talk in Congress on the GOP side of the aisle(s) about the damaging effects of inflation and Biden’s tax-and-spend binges, lawmakers on either side didn’t seek to tweak Biden’s plan to raise pay (Townhall).

Palestinian Protesters Clash with NYPD on Christmas Day
New York Post: Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters converged on Midtown Monday, lugging a blood-red mock Nativity scene and chanting, “Christmas is canceled here.” “Long live the intifada,” the crowd of about 500 demonstrators yelled, using the Arabic word for “rebellion” or “uprising,” as they mobbed the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, where revelers were enjoying the holiday. “No Joy In Genocide,” said another, written atop the faux Nativity scene, which was splattered in what appeared to be fake blood and which several of the demonstrators carried on their shoulders. A few scuffles broke out in the crowd after nightfall, including outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which sent cops running through the mob. At least six arrests — four for disorderly conduct, one for menacing and one for graffiti — were later reported near Grand Central Station and Union Square, as protesters and cops clashed (New York Post). Libs of TikTok: NYC thrown into chaos on Christmas as pro-Palestine protesters clash with police. Reports of multiple police officers injured and protesters shouting “Allahu Akbar” (X). Daily Wire: Also on Christmas, protesters targeted the homes of Biden administration officials. Demonstrators showed up outside the homes of National Security advisor Jake Sullivan and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. “Austin, Austin, rise and shine, no sleep during genocide,” protestors chanted outside the home of Austin (Daily Wire).

Canada Mandates All Federal Employers Stock Men’s Bathrooms with Tampons
Fox News: All federally regulated employers in Canada are now required to stock free feminine hygiene products such as tampons and menstrual pads in all restrooms, including men’s. The policy applies to all federal public service departments, crown corporations, banks, airports and train yards. The products are intended for employee use and not for members of the public. Additionally, all affected employers are required to make sure a covered container for the disposal of menstrual products is also provided (Fox News). Former Canadian Senator Linda Frum: Back in the day, when only women menstruated we had to pay for our own products. But now that men menstruate too, these products, as of this week, are mandated to be free in all Men’s washrooms in all federal workplaces including Parliament Hill (X). Maxime Bernier: The Liberal decision to distribute tampons in men’s toilets everywhere, including on military bases, is just another step in the systematic attack against masculinity, and part of a wider ideological battle. The woke far left want to destroy Western societies, which they see as responsible for all evils in the world (X).

Enormous Migrant Caravan is Approaching the U.S. Border
Townhall: A massive migrant caravan is making its way to the United States’ southern border. Thousands of mostly South and Central American migrants arrived Sunday in the Mexican town of Alvaro Obregon after traveling more than nine miles from Tapachula with the hope of reaching America (Townhall). Reuters: Local authorities estimated the size of a caravan of migrants, heading to the US border, to average about 8,000 people per day. A Reuters witness traveling with the group said most migrants were from Central and South America but also the Caribbean (X). End Wokeness: This massive caravan is currently on its way to invading the U.S. border. We’ve become so numb to the invasion that most of you will likely scroll past this video and forget about it. That is exactly what the regime wants (X).

Just Two Months into FY 2024, 31 Illegal Immigrants on the Terror Watch List Have Been Caught
Townhall: Record illegal border crossing numbers have highlighted a major threat to America’s national security. In just the first two months of the new fiscal year, border patrol officials have already apprehended 31 individuals who are on the terror watchlist. U.S. Customs and Border Protection explains that the watchlist began to “house information on known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) but has evolved over the last decade to include additional individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, including known affiliates of watchlisted individuals.” A chart on the CBP website details the tallies for each year. In Fiscal Year 2017, there were two encounters, in FY 2018 officials apprehended six individuals, while three were caught in each FY 2019 and FY 2020. The number then jumped to 16 in FY 2021, to 98 in FY 2022, and border patrol encountered 172 in FY 2023 (Townhall). Total enforcement actions for FY 2024 already exceed those of FY 2017, have nearly reached the level  of FY 2018, 2020 (CBP).

Colorado Democrats Set an Example of How to Skirt the System by Removing Trump from Ballot
Washington Examiner: Colorado is the only state with a Taxpayer Bill of Rights enshrined in its constitution, a xxxxxx against excessive government spending and soaring taxes. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights sets a revenue cap for the state government and mandates that voters approve any local or state tax increase. For years, Democrats have waged a tireless war on this vital protection, from the ballot box (where they have been repeatedly denied by voters in this blue state) to a failed yearslong challenge in federal court. The one place they’ve found some success, though, is the Colorado Supreme Court, which has greenlighted unconstitutional tax increases disguised as “fees” by the legislature. Consequently, Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) has signed multiple “fees” into law, including a new gas fee so lawmakers wouldn’t have to ask voters to increase the existing gas tax. In 2020, when the Democratic-dominated legislature sought to extend its COVID-19 hiatus, the court declared the sacrosanct 120-day limit on the annual legislative session was “non-consecutive,” a dubious interpretation belied by both history and the text of the state constitution. This meant Democrats could recess and return at their leisure. Colorado’s Supreme Court has upheld unconstitutional state restrictions on gun rights, including a sweeping ban on large-capacity magazines. The list of such partisan decisions continues. Now, Colorado may be a catalyst for a broader trend — signaling to other states to use legal maneuvers for virtue signaling and political advantage. States such as Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota have appeals in progress seeking the same outcome as Colorado. Like Trump or not, he hasn’t been convicted of insurrection. Allowing a state court to determine presidential eligibility, especially without a conviction by a criminal court or the U.S. Senate, transcends the constitutional authority granted to states in administering elections. This is much bigger than one state or one election. The Colorado precedent could become a harbinger of a surge in attempts to dump Trump from state ballots, but political considerations must never eclipse the law and good governance (Washington Examiner).
