Friend,
As the number of coronavirus cases grow, so does the amount of information out there about the virus. It's important to stay educated -- I'm here to make sure you have all the information to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy during this time.
The 2019 Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is a strain that has not been previously seen in humans and can be spread from person to person.
Symptoms take anywhere from two days to two weeks to show up after exposure to the virus. Though most people have mild cases, symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If your symptoms are severe, get medical attention immediately. Severe symptoms include: difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, chest pressure or pain, and confusion.
Take care to protect those most at risk, including older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, or lung disease.
As of March 2020, the United States Health Department recommends that you take the following precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19:
- Stay home when you're sick, and avoid close contact with those who are sick.
Best,
Nydia
