Did you get a chance to read Maureenâs email below? I have a feeling youâll want to hear about her incredible experience at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin. The fierce competition and joyful moments are exactly what the Special Olympics movement is all about. But none of this is possible without your help.
Time is running out to hit our one-day 100 donor goal. Donât miss your chance to DOUBLE your gift to help 2X as many Special Olympics athletes reach their potentialâand help unlock the 3X MATCH for donors for the remainder of the year!
Throughout 2023, this community showed up again and again and again. With your support, care, and enthusiasm, you helped create a world full of love and inclusion for the millions of people with intellectual disabilities (ID).Â
Millions of Special Olympics athletes couldn't have gotten where they are today if it werenât for supporters like you. Make your 2X matched gift now to help us reach our year-end goal â and please do it BEFORE MIDNIGHT, when this match ends.
Youâre simply the best,
Dan Orzechowski
Vice President, Global Strategic Partnerships
Hi there! You might recognize me as the oldest sister, Marcia Brady, from âThe Brady Bunch,â but Iâm reaching out today as a proud and grateful real-life sister and Special Olympics Global Ambassador.Â
First the good news: With only a few days left this year, you have the opportunity to DOUBLE your impact for athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID) and Special Olympics families like mine with our 2X matching gift offer!Â
And now the even better news: This community can unlock an additional match â meaning every gift will be TRIPLED until the end of the year! â but only if we inspire 100 donors to step up before MIDNIGHT tonight. Will you be one? Give now to see your matched gift go TWICE as far!
After my brother Denny, who has an ID, joined Special Olympics, not only did his life change. So did mine, and so did our whole familyâs. We saw firsthand how the joy of sports can help a person with ID discover the joy of life. We became part of a tight-knit and loving community that accepted Denny exactly for who he is â and gave him the chances to make friends, gain confidence, and share his unique and beautiful spirit with the world.Â
I thought often of Denny this summer in Berlin, where I was lucky to join the celebration (and fierce competition!) of the Special Olympics World Games. One of my favorite experiences was the Global Youth Leadership Summit, which brought together young people with and without ID from all over the world to push for inclusion, break down barriers facing people with ID, and learn to become leaders in their communities.Â
You canât help but become excited for the future when youâre around these extraordinary, courageous athletes. Thatâs why Iâm asking you to support Special Olympics with a 2X matched gift. Every donation, up to $100,000, will be matched by the Founding Partner of Special Olympics, The Coca-Cola Company, and will be counted towards our 100 donor goal to unlock the 3X match!
Remember, we have just ONE day to hit this 100 donor goal. I know this makes me sound like a big sister, but I just know we can reach this goal together and help MORE people with ID get in the game!
Having a sibling is a gift, and having a lifelong family like Special Olympics is a blessing. Please help people with ID, like my brother Denny, find belonging and love through the power of sports with a donation today â your gift will be matched for DOUBLE the impact!
Thank you so much,Â
Maureen McCormick
