2023 wing counts indicate an increase in sage grouse reproduction

CHEYENNE ? Early estimates from Wyoming?s 2023 sage grouse wings indicate increased sage grouse reproduction. Wings from harvested chick and hen sage grouse are collected from hunters ? primarily in central and southwest Wyoming ? who voluntarily contribute wings by dropping them off at designated collection points during the hunting season.

CHEYENNE ? Are you interested in teaching the next generation of Wyoming hunters? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is looking for volunteer hunter education instructors to help ensure new hunters have a thorough understanding of safety, ethics and conservation.


Game and Fish opens public comment on Chapter 23

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has opened a comment period to gather public input on Chapter 23, Regulation Governing Uses of Lands and Waters Acquired or Administered by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.?Game and Fish is hosting a public meeting about the regulation proposal at 4 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Casper Game and Fish Regional Office.


CWD detected in new Wyoming elk hunt area

PINEDALE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has confirmed the presence of chronic wasting disease in Elk Hunt Area 92. The disease was detected in a cow elk in November. To ensure hunters are informed, Game and Fish announces when CWD is found in a new hunt area.
