Hi all –

Holiday weeks can be a great time to catch up on reading – and watching. That’s why I’m hoping you’ll take some time with the story and documentary I’ve spent all fall working on with Soledad O’Brien and CBSNews.com, on the end of affirmative action in college admissions.

It will be months and possibly even years before we know the full impact of the Supreme Court decision on enrollment at hundreds of selective colleges and universities. We still aren’t sure if and when these institutions will release information on student demographics.

You can, in the meantime, hear what a wide array of experts are predicting, and learn how one family’s life is being changed by the promise and possibility of higher education. I’m eager to hear your thoughts.

I’m grateful to all our newsletter subscribers, members and donors this year. Your support means the world, and we can’t wait to bring you what’s next in 2024.
