During a challenging year, we saw the power of Indigenous solutions shine. Ecuadorians voted to halt a major oil drilling project in Yasuní National Park, one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Indigenous women gained more representation in leadership roles. Brazil's Indigenous movement secured the recognition of more than 800,000 hectares of ancestral lands!
And yet, governments are moving too slow on climate change, Indigenous rights are being violated, and the profits of a powerful few are being pitted against our future and that of generations to come.
We need your help to see Indigenous solutions forward in 2024. Will you make a special gift to support Indigenous peoples protecting the rainforest and our climate future? Your gift will be matched, and we have just $75,000 to raise to reach our $200,000 goal for the Amazon by December 31!
All gifts up to $200,000 will be matched by generous donors to support Indigenous rights and solutions for the rainforest.
Indigenous peoples offer a path forward of hope. Amazonian Earth Defenders are defending the rainforest, resisting climate change, and advancing solutions that are powerful enough to face down even the major drivers of rainforest destruction.
Your solidarity makes all the difference. Join us on this path with a year-end gift today – for Indigenous self-determination, climate justice, and a protected rainforest. For the Amazon and Mother Earth!
With gratitude,
